BOCA RATON, FL --Tickets are now on sale for the Allianz Championship tournament, set to tee off February 4th-10th, 2008 at The Old Course at Broken Sound, located at 1401 NW 51st Street, (Yamato Road) on Old Course Way in Boca Raton, FL. Bringing the legendary champions of golf to Boca Raton for a celebrated week-long PGA Champions Tour tournament, the Allianz Championship will host a variety of events that will be driving all net proceeds to Boca Raton Community Hospital. The Allianz Championship Tournament players will include a long roster of golf legends such as Gary Player, Nick Price, Tom Kite, Lee Trevino, Jay Haas, Bernhard Langer, Dana Quigley, Loren Roberts, Fuzzy Zoeller, Andy Bean, Chip Beck, John Harris, Hale Irwin and Tom Purtzer.

The Allianz Championship increases the Champions Tour’s early-season Florida swing to three tournaments with the Golf Channel televising live all three rounds of the championship from The Old Course at Broken Sound Club. The purse will be $1.65 million in 2008, escalating $50,000 the following year. Events include a Junior Pro-Am & Pro Skills Challenge on Tuesday, Feb. 5th, and the Championship Pro-Am on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 6th and 7th, followed by the televised 54-hole competition Friday through Sunday, Feb. 8th-10th.

The second day of the week-long PGA Champions Tour’s Allianz Championship will feature its Junior Pro-Am that teams up local male and female high school golfers with PGA Champions Tour professionals for a wide variety of opportunities/experiences.

2:30 p.m. -- Boca Raton Community Hospital Pro Skills Challenge on the 18th green-Pros and participants boast their golf skills in attempting difficult shots around the green.

Broken Sound is considered one of the premier golf course communities in Palm Beach County, FL. Countdown is underway for an exciting Allianz Championship PGA Champions Tour event, February 4-10, 2008 that will not only bring the legends of golf to Boca Raton for a week, but also drive all net proceeds to Boca Raton Community Hospital and take the lead as the first Florida PGA tournament to officially “Go Green”.The Allianz Championship with a purse of $1.65 million kicks off the Champions Tour’s Florida swing of three tournaments. More than 60,000 are expected to attend, 1,000 volunteers will assist, and the Golf Channel will broadcast live internationally all three championship rounds from The Old Course at Broken Sound that will feature a legendary roster of PGA Champions, including Gary Player, Nick Price, Tom Kite, Lee Trevino, Jay Haas, Bernhard Langer, Dana Quigley, Loren Roberts, Fuzzy Zoeller, Andy Bean, Chip Beck, John Harris, Hale Irwin, and Tom Purtzer.

In addition to Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, the tournament’s title sponsor, more than 30 prominent South Florida-based national and regional company sponsors are supporting the tournament, with most providing a variety of signature on-the-greens activities and interactive programming.

While on course, golf enthusiasts will have the chance to “chip” in by recycling their plastic, paper, aluminum, etc. during the week-long event. With the help of Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, other tournament sponsors and many local companies, Allianz Championship will be elevating awareness for a more Eco-friendly way of life with more than 100 recycling bins and 60 signs featuring “Going Green” tips” set throughout the course.

JM Lexus, with Lexus featured as the “official car” of the Allianz Championship for the second year, is providing more than 90 cars for the tournament pros during their visit (including a large quantity of hybrids), in addition to displaying its latest models throughout the links.

Rosenberg Diamonds & Co. will be replicating its downtown Boca Raton-based luxury diamond salon (complete with a dazzling Swarovski Crystal chandelier, a grand piano, and mahogany display cases featuring a selection of large, important whites and rare, natural fancy colored diamonds…and of course plenty of security) set regally on the 12th tee. Sponsored by Woolbright Development, Inc., which is returning as a second year tournament sponsor with more than a 100% increase in participation level, this exciting partnership between the hospital and Woolbright Development will support the hospital’s community outreach mission of providing quality healthcare to the community it serves. Inside the Woolbright Wellness Center, medical, nursing and healthcare personnel will provide health screenings for blood pressure and BMI. In addition, the Wellness Center will feature health information on a wide variety of topics ranging from breast and skin cancer awareness to nutrition information, and exercise demonstrations.
